        KIDS FIRST  HOCKEY CLINICS

In an effort to help spark the growth of youth hockey in Arizona, the Arizona Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) has purchased 500 sets of equipment from One Goal to be used in conjunction with the Phoenix Coyotes Kids First Hockey program. Each set of One Goal rental equipment includes everything your child needs to get started-shin pads, socks, hockey pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, helmet, jersey and a stick.  Desert Youth Hockey Association & Oceanside Ice Arena will be hosting the Kids First Program throughout the calendar year.

About Kids First Hockey
Kids First Hockey is an on-ice youth hockey program hosted in cooperation with the Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Development Program, Arizona Amateur Hockey Association, One Goal and Desert Youth Hockey Association/Oceanside Ice Arena. The program consists of four one-hour sessions designed to provide kids ages 4-8 a risk free introduction to the sport of hockey.  Please visit the Phoenix Coyotes website at  www.phoenixcoyotes.com to REGISTER.

Each child receives a FREE set of One Goal rental equipment to be used during the four-week clinic including a FREE pair of rental skates provided by the rink. There is an equipment fitting session before the first on-ice clinic to ensure all parents and children are aware of the proper manner in which to dress the child. The ice time is donated by Desert Youth Hockey Association/Oceanside Ice Arena, so the only cost associated with the program is a small monetary deposit (which is returned at the conclusion of the four weeks if all equipment is returned).

Kids First Hockey is open to kids ages 4-8 who are not currently enrolled in a skating or hockey program. In 2007-08, the PCHDP and local rinks conducted over 30 four-week Kids First clinics, helping introduce the sport to over 2,000 kids. At the conclusion of the four-week program, parents are given information on learn to skate and play hockey programs and will also be given a coupon to purchase a discounted set of starter equipment from a local hockey shop.

 HOW TO REGISTER:

The Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Development Program has provided numerous resources to contribute to this program including an online registration tool. A representative from the rink you register with will contact you to confirm your registration and set up an equipment fitting.

*Registration for each clinic is limited and subject to availability. Repeat registrations are not allowed as this is an opportunity for you and your child to try youth hockey on a limited risk basis.
