The Phoenix Firebirds U 18 AAA Team completed a perfect NAPHL Showcase event in Darien Illinois, going 4-0 to climb the NAPHL 18U AAA standings. Phoenix, who began the event with a 4-5-0 record now sits at 8-5-0 and is in the all important top 8 in the standings. Phoenix defeated the West Michigan Hounds 4-3, Indianapolis Ice 6-0, Texas Tornado in their Sunday morning game, 3-1 and then topped Orange County in the afternoon, 5-2.
Coach Collins says that their Team success this weekend has stirred lots of interest from the scouts and some of the boys will likely be seeing some NAHL Tender offers this week. Collins feels that the firebird Team has great Chemistry and everyone on this team plays a very intrical piece of the puzzle. From the Forwards to the Defense to Goalies. All the players are Rock Solid on and off the ice. We have extremely good speed from top to bottom ,which creates havoc for teams that need that necessary time and space needed to get their play going. This team continues to improve month by month with the latest event being the best outing yet. The amazing thing is that they are far from reaching their full potential. When they do, they will draw alot of National attention. |
